Bathrooms and tiling
Tile work in bathrooms, from the shower niche in cement board to tiled showers, tub surrounds and floors.

- What
- Tiled showers, tub surrounds and floors
- GDE's role
- GDE did the full job
The work
- The brief
- A bathroom is opened to its framing before anything new goes in; what is found decides the work. If there is mold, it is cleaned first.
- What was done
- GDE did the full job: demolition, cement board with a framed niche, tile on walls, tub surround and floors.
- The details
- A shower wall in blue cement board with a framed niche opening. Grey wood-grain tiles with a mosaic floor and a recessed niche. A tub surround being tiled, with green spacers along the edge. Large veined stone floor tiles and a star inlay in a polished stone floor. When mold is found: spray, dry a day, spray again, about two days.
Before the tile
A shower wall in blue cement board with a framed niche opening, and the same kind of wall finished in tile with the niche in place. Drag the line to compare.

Showers
Large grey wood-grain tiles on the walls and a mosaic tile floor, with a recessed niche in the wall, and a glass-enclosed corner shower beside a window.

Tubs and floors
A tub surround being tiled, with green spacers along the edge, and a finished tub surround. Drag the line to see what is underneath the tile. Then a tub in a dark tile surround, and a bathroom with veined stone walls and a freestanding tub.

Stone floors
Large white veined stone floor tiles, and a polished stone floor with a star inlay of dark and pale stone.
